The Glossary is your store’s approved vocabulary: the lists of product
types, vendors, tags, option values, and metafields that you consider correct.
When a scan runs, Atlios checks your products against these lists and flags
anything that falls outside them.
Keeping the glossary tidy is how you control which differences in your catalog
count as issues and which do not.
Glossary groups
The glossary overview shows your groups, each with its own counts:
- Product types, Vendors, Tags, and Options: lists you curate.
- Metafields: the metafields Atlios tracks and checks on your products.
- Metaobjects: a read-only directory of the custom data types in your store.
Each group shows how many values it holds, how many are new and waiting for
review, how many look like duplicates, and whether the group is Enforced or
turned Off. When a group is enforced, products that fall outside its list
are flagged during a scan.
The overview highlights groups that need attention so you can review new or
duplicate values first, and shows the rest as up to date.
Review values
New and duplicate values appear for review whenever a scan finds something not
already in your glossary. For each value you can:
- Approve it to add it to the glossary.
- Ignore it so Atlios stops suggesting it.
- Remove it from the glossary.
You can act on values one at a time or select several and act on them together.
Values are marked New when they were observed but not yet approved, and
Duplicate when they look similar to another value you may want to merge.
Metafields are the custom fields on your products. Atlios tracks the ones you
choose and checks them during scans. Each tracked metafield has a scope of
either Product or Variant, which controls where it applies.
See Manage metafields for how to add, scope, and
stop tracking metafields.
The metaobjects directory is read-only. It shows each metaobject type in your
store, its description, and its fields. You create and change metaobject types
in Shopify, under Settings, Custom data. The directory is here so you can see
what exists while you work.
Save your changes
When you edit the glossary, Atlios shows an unsaved changes banner. Save your
changes to apply them, or discard them to go back. Enforced groups take effect
on the next scan.
