# First-time setup

> The six steps Atlios walks you through the first time you connect a store.

The first time you use Atlios, it opens a setup with six steps. The top of the
page shows where you are, such as **Step 3 of 6**.

Only the owner of the organisation runs the setup. People who are invited later
skip it.

Step 1 happens on its own page. Shopify then asks you to approve access, and
steps 2 to 6 follow when you come back.

## The six steps

**1. Connect**

Enter your store address, which ends in `.myshopify.com`. You can find it in
Shopify under **Settings**, then **Domains**. If you have no store yet, a
link opens Shopify so you can create one.

Then give your organisation a name, up to 100 characters. It shows in the
sidebar and in invitations, and you can change it later in Settings.

Last, choose how you use Atlios. **Just me** makes your home your store.
**An agency** makes your home a portfolio of the stores you look after.

Choose **Connect**. Shopify opens so you can approve access. You come back
to Atlios after.

**2. Welcome**

A short page called **Here is how I work**. It says what Lio checks (titles,
descriptions, images, tags and details) and that every fix waits for your
approval. Choose **Show me my catalogue** to go on.

**3. Catalogue**

Atlios reads your products, vendors, tags, and collections. A progress bar
shows how far it has got. Bigger catalogues take longer. When it finishes,
**Here's your catalogue** shows how many vendors, product types, tags, and
collections you have.

Atlios then looks at your vendor, type, and tag names. It merges duplicate
spellings and ignores junk tags for you. This changes your Standards in
Atlios only. Nothing changes in Shopify, and you can change any of it later
in [Standards](https://docs.atlios.io/product/glossary.md).

If the store has no products yet, the page says so. Choose **Load again**
after you add some, or **Continue** to go on.

**4. Connect Google (optional)**

Connect Google Merchant Center to see which products Google refuses, and
why. Choose **Connect Google**. Atlios asks for your Merchant Center ID and
then opens Google. You come back here after.

If you do not sell on Google, choose **Skip for now**. You can connect later
in Integrations. See [Connect Google Merchant
Center](https://docs.atlios.io/guides/connect-google-merchant-center.md).

**5. Images (optional)**

Set your image standard: the size your product photos should follow. Atlios
flags any photo that does not match.

Pick **Square** (1:1, 2048 x 2048), **Portrait** (4:5, 1600 x 2000),
**Landscape** (4:3, 2048 x 1536), or **Compact square** (1:1, 1024 x 1024).
**Custom size and format** lets you set your own width and height, from 256
to 4096 pixels, and a file format of JPEG, WebP, or PNG.

Choose **Save and continue**, or **Skip for now**. Saving sets a standard in
Atlios only. Nothing changes in Shopify and no credits are used.

**6. Start**

The page is called **Look through your catalogue**. It lists what gets
checked: duplicates, missing details, content quality, and consistent
naming.

Under **Which products?**, tick **Active**, **Draft**, and **Archived** as
you need. Pick at least one. You can change this later in settings.

If your plan covers fewer products than your store has, the page says how
many are checked. Checking is free, and fixes always wait for your approval
before they save to Shopify.

Choose **Start**. The next page reads **You're all set** and shows progress.
You can leave it, and the check keeps running. The last button reads **Go to
your store home** if you chose **Just me**, or **Go to your portfolio** if
you chose **An agency**.

## What happens next

When the check finishes, your problems are in [Fix](https://docs.atlios.io/product/fix.md). To work
through them, see [Fix a problem type](https://docs.atlios.io/guides/fix-a-problem-type.md).

For credits, including any free credits that arrive with your first check, see
[Billing and credits](https://docs.atlios.io/product/billing-and-credits.md).
