# How Atlios finds issues

> How Atlios reads your Shopify catalog on its own schedule and turns what it finds into reviewable work.

Atlios reads your Shopify catalog and checks product data, variant data, image
coverage, and duplicate identifiers. It records what it finds for your team to
review. Your live product pages are checked separately, after Atlios applies a
meta title or meta description fix.

## When Atlios reads your catalog

Atlios does this for you, on its own schedule. There is nothing to start:

* Atlios reads your whole catalog when you first connect a store.
* Every week, it reads every product again, runs catalog-wide checks, and
  refreshes your quality scores.
* Every day, it picks up products that changed, so new issues surface within
  about a day.
* When a product changes in Shopify, such as an edit to its title, price, or
images, Atlios re-checks that product shortly after.

See [Collection launch readiness](/workflows/collection-launch-readiness) for
reviewing a product set before a launch.

## What it produces

Atlios turns what it finds into issues. Each issue groups a catalog problem into
something a person can review, prioritize, suppress, or fix. For how findings
become reviewable work, see [Issues overview](/product/issues-overview).

## Why an issue might look out of date

Your catalog and your issues update on slightly different schedules, so you may
now and then see an issue for a product you already fixed. It clears on its own
once Atlios re-checks that product. For more on how issues open and close, see
[Issue lifecycle](/concepts/issue-lifecycle).
